King of Pride
I’m always a fan of Ana Huang and I always say this, Ana Huang’s men are the blueprint. I love how this book incorporates characters from previous books and series. What makes this book interesting is that the male is somewhat a nerd, his hobbies is translating books to latin while the female lead is a strong outgoing woman. She has a pet snake, nothing more badass than that.
The spicy scenes were wow, the feather scene is somewhat, I don’t often heard of and I read a lot of dark romance. It is somewhat subtle but sultry. Foreplay isn’t dead, peopleeee. Moreover, I love when the lead are Asian, and this one, we don’t need a white man to save our asses. Isabella doesn’t need Kai to survive, she is well equipped on her own but having Kai by her side makes it bearable and stronger. I love that about her. Plus, this shows that Asians are more than just Chinese people than what the stereotype portrays us. All and all, I love the book and can’t wait to listen to the next book.
