Beartown is a profound and a dazzling novel about a small town that has a big heart and big dream, and also about the price, which is required in order to make it come true.

    Beartown

According to the majority of the people, Beartown is as good as finished. It has a very small community, which is nestled extremely deep in the forest. It is very slowly and steadily losing ground to the ever intruding trees. But, there is an old ice rink just down by the lake stands, which was built many generations ago with the immense efforts and hard work of the men, who actually founded this small town. In that ice rink lies the reason in which all the residents of Beartown believe that tomorrow will be a lot better and a happier time than today. Their ice hockey team of junior level is just about to compete in the semifinals of the national levels and they actually had a very good chance of winning it. All the dreams and the hopes of Beartown now rest on the shoulders of teenage boys.

Us Against You and The Deal of a Lifetime are other contemporary fiction novels that are written by Fredrik Backman, which were highly appreciated for their quality of content and exceptional performances in the audio books.
