An unforgettable thriller that can grip everyone who has a tendency of liking stuff related to FBI and other such things. Attica Locke mixes two or three stories together and then puts them in the same line in such a way that they look the pieces of the same puzzle. Here in this book we witness an average lawyer Porter who always wanted to be the best lawyer in the town but his fate runs counter to his dreams.

The only client he gets after years of practice is a call girl who can pay almost nothing still he manages to make both ends meet for his family and thus finding a comfortable niche in his life. He still tries to hide his past even from those who are near and dear to him because he has left that world forever i.e the world with guns. The trial once he faced still horrifies him like a nightmare and just when he thinks that he has started a new life here an accident changes everything.

    Black Water Rising

The woman that crashes near his front door not only makes him suspicious in the eyes of the police as a murderer but also joins his life once again with the strings he has left long ago. Bluebird, Bluebird and Heaven, My Home also possess the same sort of enthusiasm but the story is not that strongly connected like the one we witness in this novel.

Dion Graham’s narration is an extra treat which surely takes you on a tour of Texas in 1981. Drama is portrayed in true sensation along with the mystery element that remains involved all the way.
