Fantasies are often attractive as they take us to an imaginative world of our dreams. This fire and ice series begins in a bit comic and humorous way. K.F. Breene introduces a character that has serious powers but he uses it in a less serious way.
LinkedIn is a bounty hunter with supernatural power and he has made it his way of earning as well. He always takes the job that is assigned to him whether it is tough or an easy one. But he does not have anything else to do with no family or friends of his own and no motive in his life he joins an old vampire in his quest to hunt a secret item.
Unfortunately things become serious for the poor bounty hunter as old vampires are not with friendly tasks.
The writer slowly but steadily provides seriousness in the novel and the joint venture begins in a dramatic way helping LinkedIn as well. Each step of the mission reveals certain aspect of LinkedIn’s life as well the secrets he thought should be left hidden.
Soon he finds his life on the line and money does not remain a matter of concern for the poor soul anymore. The failure in the mission could mean a life of imprisonment in the gilded cage. Nicole Poole the specialist in narrating fantasies narrates this one in an excellent way.
The humor and the action is depicted well side by side in absolute perfection. The story is the first step and can be read along with Raised in Fire and Fused in Fire the other two parts of the same series and thus we can enjoy the continuation as well which in a beautiful way shows the emergence of a man who never knew about the things he was capable of.
