Dark Sacred Night is the second installment in A Renee Ballard and Harry Bosch Novel. In Harry Bosch series, it is the 21st book. This genre fiction novel is written by Michael Connelly. He is a champion writer of mystery thrillers and detective novels. The Black Ice: Harry Bosch Series, Book 2 novel is ranked among his best works. The Last Coyote: Harry Bosch Series, Book 4 is another superb title from Connelly.

The audio narration of this novel is done by Christine Lakin and Titus Welliver. Two narrators were too many for this novel who were bouncing back and forth, which confused the listeners.

Renee Ballard had her job in the night beat and she made a return back to Holly Station in the wee hours. At that time, she found a stranger who was rifling through the cabinets having old case files. That intruder was none other than the retired LAPD Detective, Harry Bosch. He was aggressively working on an old cold case which was bothering him a lot. Renee kicked him out of there but started checking into that case herself. And soon it brought in an immensely deep tug of anger and empathy.

Dark Sacred Night Harry Bosch, Book 21

Harry Bosch was investigating the death of Daisy Clayton who was a 15 years old girl. She was a runaway and was brutally killed while her body afterward was left in a dumpster. Renee Ballard joined hands with Harry Bosch to figure out what happened to Daisy and to get her killer arrested.

This story is not as good as most of the other Harry Bosch novels. The author seemed to be trying his same old formula again and again, which didn’t work this time.
