In the series surviving is everything and till now Cade and his friends have remained successful in surviving. Circumstances go out of hand once more and perhaps surviving wouldn’t be the key this time. To keep everyone safe Cade and the remaining humans must devise clever plans against the zombies and upcoming new enemies. When Frayed started there was news of snowfall and from that time on there has been a war for resources as well. If the resources are not found and stored at regular intervals there would be bigger chaos for the humans.
Cade has other issues to deal with on the West Coast. The enemy has gathered on the borders and the country that is already eaten up by the undead does not stand a chance against an army raid. Old warrior just cannot bear all this, so he takes out his gun and starts towards the border to help the soldiers. Meanwhile, in the base where the survivors are hiding a much terrible thing takes place i.e the undead has returned and they are more hungry and destructive.
Many thought that the snowstorm made the undead perished but it just buried them for the time being and after the melting of snow they are remerging. With a better team, Cade fights more aggressive enemies from both sides only this time he is not showing pessimism like in Warpath. Shawn Chesser has not yet concluded the series but every part is sensational. Narration by Adam Paul has also been up to the mark and no complaints or objection has been raised against it ever.
