The story of this novel is set in 1993 when Marie got disappeared without any trace. She got vanished while she was coming out of a supermarket. Harry Bosch, the LAPD detective worked that case but he was unable to crack it despite putting in his best efforts.
The 22 years old was never found. Now, after more than 10 years, Harry Bosch got a call from the district attorney, while having the Gesto file still on his desk. There was a man with an accusation of a couple of heinous murders. He was ready to come clean about several other murders which also included that of Marie.
Taking the confession of that man whom he had sought for 12 long years was quite bad. He then discovered that he missed out on a major clue in 1993 which could have stopped 9 other murders from happening.
Echo Park is a superior crime fiction novel. You will find it as suspenseful as any other great book in the genre.
