An ordinary man named Amos Decker changed into the famous Memory Man when the series started at Memory Man. The man possesses the ability to recall everything exactly without any loss of memory. Amos lost his family a long while ago and now he is helping the investigating department so that he can help others in getting rid of the bad guys present in the state. Crime hits southern Florida when a judge and her bodyguard get killed without any apparent reason.
The reason for the crime is unknown that’s why tracking down the criminal is not very easy for the police. Decker’s boss tells him to go to that place for investigation and sends Frederica White with him who is also a special agent and quite skilled in her job. When the two reach Florida they face quite a lot of difficulty in the investigation because the department in Florida was not told about these two agents.
No one in Florida was ready to accept these two. David Baldacci adds another story in the novel when Amos Decker gets his medical reports from his doctor and finds out that his brain is working in an unusual way. A double homicide case was at hand so Decker was not ready to think about himself.
Kyf Brewer and Orlagh Cassidy narrate the urgency in the story because time is running out for the two detectives. The quickness in the storyline makes us remember The 6:20 Man but just for the pace and not for the story which is different. Decker’s mind starts playing tricks with him in the middle of the story and the revelation creates a disturbance in the investigation.
