A wonderfully written Science fiction for the kids is not a bad thing for the adults of the present era who have lost the power of imagination. Imaginative life keeps us going; it nourishes our mind and boasts positive energy into us especially if we are teenagers.
Ibi Zoboi became famous after writing books like Pride and American Street this time the writer has experimented with such kind of fiction the very first time. The style is dreamy but still it is appealing, we start making a bond with the girl who seems to be fascinated by the stars. Ebony Grace the twelve year old girl spent her early life with her grandfather whom she loved very much. The grandfather because of his association with NASA inculcated in the mind of the granddaughter everything that’s he knew about the stars.
The girl not only became a fan of the heavenly objects but also started to look at them in an entirely new way. During these years of her life she also gets a few weeks to live with her father in Harlem. She never thought that living with her father would be so much fun because Harlem proves to be the place for her where her dreams could come true.
She does not have to go into her imaginations anymore as the place helps her to visualize all that stuff. The city had a special relation with the stars like Ebony. Ibi Zoboi narrates it in a childlike passion that was not due but still it has done the magic in presentation of the story and the characters that are involved.
