Stone Cold: Joe Pickett, Book 14

| | , ,

Stone Cold: Joe Pickett, Book 14 is a crime fiction novel. It is written by C. J. Box. If you like crime fiction and mystery thrillers then there is a buffet of such novels for you in the Joe Picket novel series where one of them is Force of Nature. Another recommended title written by Box in the same mystery series is Blood Trail.

David Chandler once again made it a special treat for his fans and followers while giving an outstanding narration of the book.

Everything was a mystery about the man. There was a huge ranch in the isolated Black Hills area of Wyoming that people hardly visit. Rumors were going around about the wealth of that mysterious man that all came from killing people. Joe Pickett was a game warden, but he was mostly a troubleshooter while working for the governor.

He was assigned to find out the actual truth in the matter. But, upon his initial investigation, he discovered a lot more than what he bargained for. There were a couple of other men living at that massive ranch as well. One of them was a stone-cold murderer who took an instant dislike to Joe Pickett. The other man was new. But, Joe knew him pretty well. The first one doesn’t frighten Joe well. And, the second man was entirely a different story.

The book is great and has strong content which has a little bit of violence and cursing. But, there is no sex at all, except a couple of gnarly bodily descriptions. So, this makes it a good read for the older teens and the adults of course.
