The Harbinger Series, Book 1
Storm glass can be considered as an introductory novel in the series by Jeff Wheeler where the writer presents two worlds that are opposite in nature as well as status, one is the world of the poor where they work in factories and the other one is the world in the sky which only the rich can afford and they always have the acute desire to keep the mysteries to themselves so that they can keep their strong hold on the society and can maintain the power difference because it is the only way their rule can sustain.
The story brings a new idea in the fiction world and can be read along with the other two books related to the same series Prism Cloud and Mirror Gate. The two main girls, Cettie Pratt and Sera Fitzempress are a unique case in the world that is above. Cettie Pratt is adopted by an admiral though she belongs to the world beneath and the admiral takes her to the world in the sky but not everyone there seems to be of welcoming nature for her as they consider her someone who is a low birth.
Sera is a princess who belongs to the aristocratic family but she is inclined to know about Cettie as she is curious about her and the world beneath. Both the girls show a unique tendency for the opposite worlds and the fate of the world also depends on the unification of these two souls as there are certain secrets buried in the two worlds related to their past. Kate Rudd has narrated this part like the other two, with cool and calm voice which is always good to hear and never tend to tire us at any point.
