This is the last chapter of the series which Lemony Snicket has narrated on his own. The previous two The Wide Window and The Miserable Mill were wonderfully done by the author. Lemony Snicket has proved that he is also a very good narrator along with his writing skills. The three children are again brought to the screen and so far they have not been able to enjoy life up to the maximum level.
Though they have proved that they are not ordinary children who are going to give up their struggle and accept defeat but still things are becoming tougher for them. Every day in the boarding school is like a challenge for them that they cannot lose. They have to struggle for their way out and in between these regular troubles, there have been certain big ones that they have faced together.
Sunny, Violet, and Klaus are intelligent and possess the power of wit to stand against evil. This part also comes to us in the voice of the narrator that has been a part of the story since the beginning. It is through the eyes of the narrator that the audience sees the entire thing. The situation is not pleasant for the children, moreover, they are not heroes who are going to step up with all their superpowers.
They have to bear everything with patience and wait for the day when they will have an upper hand in their life. Their fate has been signed but they have decided to rise against it and this thing has made everything more terrible. If they are going to lose then they are not going down without a fight.
