The subject novel is The Deal of a Lifetime, which is a short novel that spans just about 47 minutes in its audio book format. This contemporary fictional novel is written by Fredrik Backman. Santino Fontana has done the narration of this novel, which was a reasonable performance.

The tale of this novel starts with a father narrating a story to his beloved son on Christmas Eve. But, this one is not a typical Christmas story. The father openly admits to his son that he has taken a life, but he wouldn’t tell that who it was, at least not yet.

A week earlier, the man met a little 5 year old girl in a hospital very late at night. She was suffering from cancer. She was a highly intelligent and a smart kid. She was smart in the sense that she knew that she wouldn’t be able to beat cancer and would spend her day by drawing using crayons. This act of hers used to make adults happy and for this reason, she continued doing that.

    The Deal of a Lifetime

Just as the man tells the story of this little girl to his son, he slowly and steadily revealed a lot more about himself. Although, he might be a very successful businessman being appreciated and even idolized by his peers and the media, but he knew that he has actually failed as a parent.

My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry is a super awesome novel by Fredrik Backman, which earned him great name as a novelist. More than that, A Man Called Ove novel helped author with international fame and also took her to the top of the ranks in New York Times by making him the best-selling author.
