The Vampire Diaries, Book 2 is a teen and young adult fiction novel. It is written by Lisa Jane Smith. She is a quality writer of young adult fiction. You will find her work at its best in The Vampire Diaries, Book 1, and The Vampire Diaries, Book 4 novels. The issue with these two recommended books is the narration which is not up to the mark. But, the story is good enough to impress you all a lot.
The narration of the book is done by Rebecca Mozo. She was the narrator in the first chapter as well and the performance was way below average. This time as well she was annoyed with her accent and tonal quality.
Damon was determined to have Elena in his life. He was even ready to kill his brother to have her. Stefan on the other end was quite desperate to have all the power for destroying Damon and at the same time, to protect Elena. In that situation, he decided to give in to his thirst for human blood. Elena on the other end was a girl who could have anyone with her to become part of a love triangle. It could also be the one that could turn deadly.
The story without any doubt was beautiful. The poor accent of the narrator ruined it for most of the listeners. The characters of Damon and Stefan were written so beautifully but you will never feel the connection with them due to their below-average vocal performance for them. This is a book that makes a very strong case to be re-recorded in the audio format.
