A very attractive psychological story of a woman who sees the world deeply as she is left with no other job in the world. Anna Fox though she lives in New York feels alone in her apartment as she has no relatives or friends she wastes her time observing her neighbors and keeping an eye on their activities.
She tries to find perfection in other people’s life which she lacks in her home. Other activities are drinking and watching too much TV in order to keep her busy but these activities affect her way of thinking and she begins to knit stories in her mind or perhaps she starts looking at the world in a different way. She starts observing the perfect and the newly arrived family called the Russells who shift near her house. They have everything well sorted out in their family.
The husband and wife have a relation which people dream of in married life and also they are blessed with a son who is a teenager now, a perfect youth who is living in good coordination with his family. But every family has some dark secrets which they hide from society and try to live away from the dark aspects of their life. Anna fails to comprehend what is right and what is wrong. Apparently they are perfect and sometimes Anna is forced to think that whatever she is assuming is just the creation of her own imagination. A.J. Finn has built a story from a common thing.
The characters are also simple and are like the average people we meet and see in our daily life. Ann Marie Lee narrates the thing as was the need in a simple way so that the basic impact of the story is not destroyed.
A.J Finn has other books that you may listen to including the H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Omnibus Collection, Volume I: 1917-1926 and H.P. Lovecraft – The Complete Fiction Omnibus Collection – Second Edition: The Prime Years: 1926-1936 where you may find more incidence, life lessons and thrilling adventures in a very understandable manner.
