Dawn happens to be one of the most romantic times of the day since the creation of this world but it is not the case in Khorasan. After books like The Damned and The Beautiful Renee Ahdieh creates a marvelous suspense tale. In this story Khalid the new caliph of the state is just an eighteen year old boy and as a young boy he possesses the oddest of habits. At every night he orders his soldiers to bring a new bride for him and after midnight that girl is slaughtered thus unable to see the dawn.

Every girl of the state knows that it would be her time soon and the next day her dead body will return from the palace. Not only the girls but the parents of every girl in town are scared of the deadly fate of their daughter. In this scenario Shahrzad a teenage girl takes a bold decision and presents herself as a volunteer for the caliph. Whole town gets amazed but the girl has an agenda of her own to fulfill. She wants to take revenge from the caliph because he killed her best friend the previous day.
