Zuri Benitez a proud lady in all aspects of life cannot find a perfect match for her because she considers no one as her match.
She is proud of her family reputation that roots back in a dynasty that stands tall in the whole state. The delayed marriage of Zuri and her sisters is again a big issue for the parents and just when everyone is hopeless the neighborhood is garnished by the presence of the Darcy family.
Zuri’s sister suddenly falls in love with the handsome Ainsley as she also readily agrees to marry him within no time.
This readiness shows that only Zuri is stubborn to avoid the temptation otherwise the rest of the girls show readiness against any proposal that is thrown at them. Negating every man that she meets still gets entangled in a strange type of relationship with Warren; she cannot tell at first that whether it was love or their chemistry matches well.
They possess difference too and thus not soul mates of course but their personalities tempt something in each other, a temptation that both of them started to like.
Much better written than Black Enough and American Street especially the narration in the voice of Elizabeth Acevedo that matches excellently with the personality of Zuri. The narrator describes the lustiness of Ainsley in real culinary terms as well which is quite appreciable.
