Morrigan’s Cross marks the start of another brilliant trilogy to come from Nora Roberts. The title of this series is Circle Trilogy and it is a romantic fantasy. Dick Hill has been entrusted with the job of narrator and has done exceptionally well in that capacity.
Standing right at the cliffs of Ireland from the 12th century right after following the disappearance of his twins, Mac Cionaoith gets a visit by the goddess Morrigan and is charged with the considerable task, which was not only to save his but the future world as well.
His enemy, Lilith, the charming but deadly vampire queen has had more than 2000 years of experience in the horrible killing and conversion of humans into one of her own kind. One of the casualty is Cian, who is the brother of Hoyt Mac Cionaoith.
Hoyt should travel well across the world and try to find and subsequently train the 5 others that Morrigan has prophesized. They will join him as in the form a circle and will fight against the army of Lilith, which is of all vampires in the Geall land.
But who the witch actually is. Is she the scholar, a shape changer, a warrior or the vampire? How will this mysterious and an unlikely band of 6 would manage to prepare and subsequently become one with less than 3 months, until the expected end of the world?
Nora Roberts is quite a diverse writer and you will find a range of her novels mainly based on fiction but further categorized under romance and mystery thrillers with lots of suspense at times as well.
