The evil spirit that comes to the land to spread terror is of Heinrich Kramer who died an era ago. During his lifetime the man used to hunt witches and now when his spirit comes to physical form every year he hunts ordinary women. Hunting is just the first step that the spirit performs, later he also roasts their bodies on fire. Catherine and Bones want to save the town from this trouble that comes at regular intervals.
To save the women the two must send the spirit back to hell forever but it is not an easy task to perform as the proper ritual is needed so that the soul can finally rest in peace.
Jeaniene Frost paints the picture of another demon for this part, making a spirit die was tiresome for the vampire and his wife but like always the book folds with a happy ending. Providing satisfaction to the ears is the voice of Tavia Gilbert that marches on with the series. The author needs to add some personal life elements of the main characters now; it has been longtime since the author told us something about Catherine and Bones.
