A nice sequel that shows a good continuation of the first part takes us to another realm. C.M. Carney writes another part of the masterpiece series in a brilliant way. We observe the Gryph gaining more and more fame in the virtual reality that he entered just for the sake of his sister. As he passes the dungeon of the Burrow after killing the King of the dungeon he comes closer to his fate.

And his fate is nothing less than becoming a leader and emerging as an icon in a new world. This time he finds himself in a wonderland of magical powers and as he motors along with the realm. But at the same time, his friends face a threat that can cost them their life. Barrow King was just the start that’s why certain characters were left unexplained or much detail was not provided about them.

This part, however, has no such weakness, even the main character is developed up to the maximum as he reaches his full potential. This time he finally takes his position as a leader for the first time in his life. The story also shows a race against time situation that we observe in Scourge of Souls as well. Gryph too in this part tries to stop the zealot from getting hold of an ancient weapon that could unleash unlimited power.

Those powers could bring havoc in the world and would also shatter his dreams of freeing his sister. Armen Taylor continues with the same pattern of narration that keeps the association of the listener alive.

The association with the narration also makes this next volume easier to understand as we are familiar with the rise and fall in the voice.
