This is the second book in the series and shows a nice connection with the previous part and paves a good way for the next chapter. Jeaniene Frost reveals more related to the prince of darkness as the dating between him and Leila continues and this is something over which both of these characters have no control.
Both Leila and the night prince have failed to restrict themselves to their worlds and are perhaps so madly engaged to one another that they start forgetting their domain and limitations that restrict them in their growing relationship.
Leila apparently tries to dislike both the options that she is presented within her love life, one is a vampire who tends to hide his love and the second one is a knight who has always aroused her passion of love and wanted something more than friendship because of which tend to decline all the time but now she is being followed by someone who wants her dead and it’s up to her whom she chooses for her help and life.
The novel no doubt has fully developed characters and they are all unique in their appearance and nature. The four characters that include the killed as well are all focused on achieving their goal which makes the story more thrilling from the reader’s point of view. The supernatural creatures provide the same effect as they did in Halfway to the Grave, Shades of Wicked the scenario is a bit different this time.
Tavia Gilbert narrates slowly at the start of the novel but in the later stage, the narrator has picked good pace with the story. The impact of the words and the way the story is described is just great.
