For a novel like The Western Star and for a saga like Walt Longmire, the author Craig Johnson has done the best he could ever do to bring countless book lovers into his fan club. The subject novel is the 13th chapter of the Walt Longmire series and expectedly, quite an interesting one too.
By this 13th chapter, people have all the idea that what they expect from Craig Johnson new levels, and the author definitely never lets his fans down. Not only him, but the narrator, George Guidall has also done, what he does best with his powerful voice, which is the need of the story and the character he plays.
Walt in The Western Star novel is shown while relishing a celebratory beer, which was right after the weapons certification at the Law Enforcement Academy of Wyoming. This was also the moment when a very young sheriff antagonizes Walt Longmire with a picture of 25 armed males standing right ahead of a Challenger steam locomotive.
It takes him way back in time, when fresh out of the war field of Vietnam, the then deputy Longmire convoyed Lucian, his mentor to the annual Sheriff’s Association of Wyoming. It was organized on the expedition train, which was popularly known as the Western Star.
The train ran the full length of the Wyoming region, which was from Cheyenne to Evanston and then back again. The Walt was ill-prepared for the mission, which had many challenges for him to overcome.
Death Without Company and Dry Bones novels from Craig Johnson are highly recommended for the quality of writing and producing a mind blowing plot, which is full of extreme thrill, suspense and adventure for the listeners to enjoy. The narration of this book is so well done that you can hardly resist or skip any part of this novel till it get concluded.
