Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Robin Wasserman, and Maureen Johnson use all their skills to portray the legendary character known as Simon Lewis. There was a time when Simon too shared the innocence of a human being but that was a very long time ago. His entire human desires and the human body was snatched from him in just a single bite on the day he turned into a deadly vampire. For years he remained in the state of a vampire and got full control over his powers.
The blood lust changed him from a human into a blood-sucking demon who showed no mercy to his prey. Again a drastic change has come to Simon’s life; he has forgotten everything about his past and is ready to start a new chapter of his life. This time he aims at becoming a Shadowhunter for which he joins the academy where the Shadowhunters are trained. But it is not easy to become one of the elite members of the academy because the new trainees are placed in the basement of the campus.
To become the elite member Simon has to show this new world what he is capable of. City of Bones and City of Ashes was narrated by just a single narrated here there is a longish list including Devon Bostick, Ki Hong, Jack Falahee, and Chris Wood. Each uses his or her voice to the maximum potential and every chapter is narrated in a high pitch to keep the intensity electrified as ever. The person who is looking for variety in a novel this book will surely prove to be the right pick for him in all regards.
I absolutely loved this audiobook! It was so well written and the characters were so likable. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
