The Forsaken God: An Epic LitRPG/GameLit Adventure

AUDIOBOOK FOR YOU - TOKYBOOK!

I’ll be honest I picked this one up without having read the other four first. My foolish mistake. Now that being said I enjoyed it immensely. Now liken my experience to watching return of the Jedi without having seen any other Star Wars movie. Great characters but with relationships and powers and intricacies of personalities that I was totally clueless about. Still highly enjoyable but I just know it would have been better with the prior four books knowledge. That being said there are great quests, godlike abilities, leveling trees, powers and gear that just rock and would make any d&d group drool to find in a drop. Enjoy the book But please only after listening to the rest. It will be worth the wait.

Armen Taylor once again does a fantastic job with his narration. I love how much the previous books lay the groundwork for this incredible story. I find myself with my jaw dropped from all the cool twists and story line threads that Mr. Carney lays down. This story has a great many battles that keep you interested as well as all the character development. Continue with the good work and I’ll find myself impatiently awaiting Chaos Rising.

The Forsaken God: An Epic LitRPG/GameLit Adventure

This book in the series delivers a continuation of the adventure, awesome popular culture references, and explains how the realms came into being. The voice acting was great for what the material is. I find myself drawn to the mythology of the Realms, and impressed with the author’s choice of creatures: Aboleth, and Coatl. the worlds he builds are believable and interesting. The action story introducing them to us is compelling.
Then, we have Lex, the character interactions, and the disjointed LitRPG interruptions, which nearly drove me to turn off the title completely. Lex was the worst of these. Perhaps, the book format of this would make these things less glaring and annoying. Other LitRPGs have similar issues but some tread that line very well. I think I’ll finish the series and be happy with the elements the author brings to them but I cringe thinking that I have to deal with listening to Lex again.
