I found someone recommending this book on Book-tok and I have never been so happy I used a credit. I listen to close to 20 books a month and this one takes the cake for 2023. Yes, I am calling it now.
There are quite a few things that may trigger delicate souls, but for me this book was perfect. There are a few gaps in the timeline but the author seems to be filling those gaps in her own way. I immediately ran to Amazon to buy the whole series. (Since the first of the four is the only one on audible.) The narration is top notch and the dual narration did a wonderful job bringing this book to life! The female narrator had convincing job of fear with a very specific lilt to her voice. The male narrator had no problem coming across as alpha in every way. I can’t wait to get the rest of the books in the series, I have a feeling this will end up a repeat read/listen, like Den of Vipers.
