Strange circumstances that the characters face makes this series appealing to everyone, though the circumstances are just the creation of Janette Oke but they look real. Surroundings, the local people and then the rare incidents all of it consist of real life like pictures. Emotions were the second key element in When Comes the Spring and When Breaks the Dawn and here it happens to be the primary one. Henry the law enforcer in the town did not have a very happy past and thus that nightmarish past exists somewhere deep in his sub conscience.
Not many people of the town know about it now but it has sure effect on his mind and an impact on his personality. It is because of all this Henry is so passionate in helping the widow and her son. Henry thinks that troubled family represents his past when he was taken in by the Delaney family. Because of the support that he got from the Delaney he was able to recollect his life and finally is now a successful law enforcer.
Along with him is his sister Christine who too was once the member of the same family and thus she calls Henry her brother. The two siblings start digging too deep this time and this fascinating ride is told in the voice of Marguerite Gavin.
The deeper the two go in the fathering storm the old troubles start to come to life once again. Past gets more attention in the latest part and the culture and surroundings does not get the attention as it used to get in the initial parts of the series.
