Body of Evidence is a mystery thriller. It is the second chapter in the Scarpetta novel series. Patricia Cornwell is known for her potential to present some of the most gripping thrillers and this, Body of Evidence novel might just be the same type for you. You will be pleasantly surprised and excited to know about her other good novels in the same category. A couple of those names are Quantum: A Thriller and Spin. Apart from these, you may also explore her archives further to find the gem of the mystery thrillers. She wouldn’t disappoint you for sure.
For the audiobook, you will get to hear the voice of C. J. Critt. Her reading was quite slow and the cadence was a bit awkward too. Her heavy breathing was audible as well, which was too frequent as well. On that ground, the performance by her was not much appreciated.
Beryl Madison once on a very late night turned off the burglar alarm of her house. She also puts his gun down and then she opened the door of her house. A man was standing here who has stalked and harassed her for several months. A few hours later, her dead body was placed in the city morgue. Scarpetta started the investigation by locating the microscopic clues for identifying the killer. Scarpetta was confused with just one question and it was that why she let that man come into her house?
The story of Body of Evidence is good and exactly how a mystery thriller should be. It comes to a brilliant ending after a good start as well. The performance by Critt was a letdown and didn’t go well with the listeners.
