Ayo Tokybook fam, it’s time to lose ourselves in a world where love is a weapon, the palace is cursed, and the men? Morally gray and hot as hell. Here’s your feral, typo-friendly, full-throttle audiobook review of Enchantra (Wicked Games, Book 2) by Kaylie Smith – a spicy romantasy fever dream that grabbed me by the throat and whispered “never trust your heart.”
Enchantra – A Deadly Game of Love, Lies, and Lust-That-Will-Ruin-You
OKAY LISTEN—
I thought I was going in for some casual fantasy spice.
What I got??
Cursed mansions. Dead moms. Fake dating with tension so thick I couldn’t breathe.
And a morally gray man who said “you can’t come in” and then let her ruin his whole life anyway.
This book?? DEVOURED ME.
Genevieve Grimm: Don’t Let the Last Name Fool You
This girl is not here to be sweet.
She shows up with grief in her chest, revenge in her veins, and somehow still finds herself in a magical trap house with rules like “play or perish.”
She’s tough. Sharp. But also?? Vulnerable in a way that HURTS.
And the way she navigates this palace of illusions while pretending to be in love with her enemy???
Oscar-worthy.
You’ll root for her. You’ll cry with her. You’ll scream “GIRL DON’T DO IT” every time she gets that look in her eyes. You know the one.
Rowin Silver: Certified Menace. Capital-T Trouble.
Let’s talk about HIM.
Rowin. Freaking. Silver.
Mans opens the book with attitude and jawline, and ends it by ruining all of us emotionally.
He’s:
– Arrogant
– Tragic
– Stuck in a curse
– Fake-loving her for survival
– Real-loving her by accident (oops)
He says “don’t trust your heart” while literally staring at her like she hung the damn moon.
It’s giving “we’ll die if they find out this isn’t fake… but what if it’s not?”
Rowin = walking red flag. And I packed my bags.
Enchantra = The Palace That Wants You DEAD
This place is not a vibe.
It’s marble. It’s thorns. It’s watching you.
The whole book is one big dangerous chessboard where every room’s a trap, every smile’s a test, and everyone is performing for an invisible audience.
You win? You live.
You slip up? You disappear.
It’s like The Hunger Games had a baby with Cruel Prince, and then gave it a fake dating subplot with extra spice and deadly consequences.
AND I’M HERE FOR IT.
The Spice? Hot. The Tension? HOTTER.
This is slow burn but unhinged.
You’re not getting full-on spice scenes on every page. But what you do get?
Lingering glances
Forced proximity
“If they hear us, we die” energy
“Pretend this is real” kisses that definitely aren’t fake
It’s delicious.
And when they finally give in? I had to PAUSE and PACE.
‘Cause I was not READY.
Audiobook Vibes – 10/10 Emotional Damage
Laura Horowitz + Gabriel Michael???
They DID that. Dual narration always hits harder in fantasy romance, and here? Top-tier chemistry.
Laura nails Genevieve’s balance of control + chaos.
Gabriel gives Rowin the quiet heartbreak and cocky exterior.
Together? Unstoppable.
If this book doesn’t get turned into a full-cast drama series, I will RIOT.
Final Verdict – Fake Love Never Hurt So Good
Enchantra is:
– Fantasy meets seduction
– Deadly games meets forbidden desire
– Grief meets hope meets enemies-to-“oops I love you”
If you:
– Live for morally gray love interests
– Scream for fake dating tropes with real feelings
– Loved Throne of Glass, The Serpent and the Wings of Night, or The Cruel Prince
– Want spice with actual emotional weight
– Are ready to cry, blush, and maybe bite your phone
Then BRO—this is your next obsession.
Sorry for the chaos and grammar, I wrote this in a full emotionally compromised state. Tokybook fam, Enchantra doesn’t ask for your heart. It takes it.
