This is the very first book I’ve read S.J. Tilly, and I really liked it. It was spicy and sweet and just perfectly feel goodsy. When I first started reading, I was afraid the childhood chapters were going to be creeping, what with Lou’s and Beck’s ages being 7 vs. 16 and 15 vs. 23. But S.J. Tilly handled it very well and I didn’t get a creepy vibe from Beck at all. It was all pretty much very “She was just a little girl infatuated with me. I didn’t see her as anything else than a child”. So really, don’t let the first few chapters deter you. I promise, they are kinda cute with Lou having her first crush!
The story was kind of the right balance between sweet and hot and plot and s*x. And such a feel good book with very little angst.
My only problem with this book is that the dialogue often isn’t correctly formatted with tags and punctuation. But I’m also a nerd and nit-picker, so a normal person probably won’t even notice that.
If you’re looking for a story about a heroine who finally, at age 30, gets a chance to be with her childhood crush, then this is definitely what you want to read. Especially if you’re on the look-out for some hot s*x scenes!
