Artemis Fowl comes to the final battle that will decide everything for the world of Fairies and the human world forever. Criminal mastermind has been the key for both worlds and though the boy is a greedy little creep but he has been able to perform well for the world. Opal Koboi is not a new name, everyone observed this mean little pixie in The Opal Deception when it tried to take revenge from the fairies and Artemis. Things did not go well for her in that part but here she is back with the dream to become the fairy queen. For this she has to do a simple task i.e destroy all humans that stand in the way.

    The Last Guardian-Artemis Fowl

After that she would be able to summon the dead fairies back into the world and those dead fairies will take the body of any dead living being present at the spot. Among those bodies there are two that Artemis holds very dear, the bodies of his brothers naming Myles and Beckett.  Artemis is more concerned about the survival of his brothers; the care for the rest of the world comes later. As Opal comes with Myles and Beckett in the war zone Artemis thinks that this is the battle that he cannot participate in.

After The Arctic Incident this is the second time the criminal mastermind thinks of him as a helpless creature against the odds. Eoin Colder upgrades the role of Holly Short here that stands up against the situation and helps Artemis too against the circumstances. Nathaniel Parker delivers this last episode as energetically just as the first one and there is not much laughing in this last part which was ample in the previous one.
