“An Archer Novel” was sold like hot cakes when the first book of the series was launched and David Baldacci was forced by fans to come up with the second part quickly. Archer’s life is back on the track in the second instalment as he comes out of prison and starts looking for a new beginning.

The man has been a perfect criminal all his life and when he is told about the opportunities in California he just takes a ticket and starts his journey towards the place. On the way he hits a jackpot and with a lot of money and a struggling actress on her side he begins a leisurely journey towards his destination.

When he reaches California he is surprised to find that the place was not like his dreams rather the people were constantly eyeing one everything which he had with him. Getting the support of Willie Dash i.e a retired FBI agent was a good thing which Archer found in that new city.

    A Gambling Man

As Archer and Dash delve deep into this new world they discover crime and murders that have been buried for a while. There are brothels and gambling places which are linked to the crime world to the core. Thus nothing appeared to be the same as was told in the beginning. Edoardo Ballerini and Brittany Pressley narrate together, this novel which gets dominated by stories of betrayal in the later stages. Daylight and Deliver Us from Evil had the same amount of talk about corruption and the corrupt people of the society. Some political ingredient was new in this story because of which it gets bigger in theme.
