Whenever Tempe plans for a holiday, dead bodies and caskets appear from all side and she again delves into the investigation files. Kathy Reichs has done injustice here with the main character because she never gets a chance to spend some happy time with her loved once. Whole year has passed in the beginning of this sixth part since Tempe’s last vacation and now she is all geared up for a long vacation.
Just when she prepares everything she is told that North Carolina cannot solve a single case without her. This time however there is more than one case waiting for her, the bones of a newborn are found and looks like someone has got rid of an unwanted baby. She can test this through the DNA report but first she has to deal with the two dead bodies from a plane crash and these bodies are covered with some strange material.
There are other bones that need some testing in the lab and the presence of the lab now proves that the author started a new thing in Grave Secrets. Tempe uncovers most of the horrifying secrets linked to the dead bodies in her lab now. Between all of this a personal problem at home teases Tempe the most as her daughter Katy has made a new boyfriend who looks suspicious to Tempe.
The doctor wants to solve all the cases as quickly as possible but she suspects that someone is playing with her results in order to delay the investigation. Michele Pawk starts it well and also ends it well in clear and explicit manner. Pawk was in no hurry during narration and the narrator has tried up to the maximum to utter each part correctly.
