Dream Town is a suspenseful mystery thriller novel. It is the third chapter of the Private Investigator Archer novel series. The book is authored by David Baldacci. He is an American author mainly known for writing legal thrillers and suspense novels. Memory Man is an outstanding novel by David Baldacci and so is his The 6:20 Man.
Edoardo Ballerini paired up with Brittany Pressley for the narration of this novel. It was a superbly done narration and for that Edoardo deserves a special mention here.
It was the eve of the year 1953 when Aloysius Archer was in LA with an old friend to ring in the New Year. The friend was Liberty Callahan who was an aspiring actress. Their evening together got interrupted by one of their acquaintances of Callahan named Eleanor Lamb, who was a screenwriter in awful straits.
After a stint of chilling events and some mysterious phone calls, there was a blue car standing outside her door and a bloody knife was found in the sink. Eleanor rightly feared that time that her life was in grave danger. She wanted to hire Archer to do the investigation into the matter. As per the suspicion of Archer. Eleanor knew a lot more than what she shared with him. Before he could take on her case officially, a dead body was discovered inside his house of Eleanor. Then Eleanor disappeared as well.
Archer was in a situation of having a missing client. He was determined to find out the murderer as well as Eleanor. He took the help of Callahan along with Willie, his partner and he launched an investigation that took him from Las Vegas to the shiny world of Hollywood and the gloomy corners of LA.
Everything about Dream Town’s book is excellent including its characterization, storyline, and narration. This is a book that will make you go through the entire Private Investigator Archer series.
