Adventure of Odd Thomas begin here, being just a cook at Pico Mundo Grill he thought that his life would be plain and simple. Dead of the town then started communicating with him and suddenly Odd found himself in a big messy situation. All he dreamed of was to get a chance with the Stormy Llewellyn and what he got was totally something different. Odd sometime thinks that he has been blessed with magical powers with which he can help the unguided souls but most of the time he thinks of it as a curse.
Powers that Odd possesses however are not useless because he on rare occasions help the police department too with the souls that inform him about different happenings. This time things are going beyond his limits as the mysterious man with Hyena-like shades does not allow Odd’s informers to come near him. All they can do now is to wait for the 15th of August on which the whole secret would be brought to light. Author Dean Koontz intensifies the mystery even further here when there is a hint of a catastrophe approaching.
Odd must stop it before everything goes down; he along with King Rock ‘n’ Roll goes to the heart of darkness in order to stop the launch of pure evil. David Aaron Baker narrates this first part of the series and at the time when Odd goes for an active fight the narration is just awesome. David paints the true heroic figure with his superb voice till the end of the catastrophe. Forever Odd and Brother Odd are the next two parts of this adventure series.
First part appeals us so much with its mystery and action that we as listeners cannot stop ourselves from going to the next parts in a flash. It is better to buy these first three parts together because you would not be able to resist the temptation for a long time after the first part.
