Open Season is a book by C. J. Box. It is a crime fiction novel and the book is the first one in the bestselling Joe Pickett novel series. He has written more than 20 novels so far which have been crime fiction and mystery thrillers mainly. If you want to have a good entertaining literary session then his Shadows Reel novel will make a fascinating read. Moreover, Free Fire is another exciting novel by the author.
The Open Season novel is narrated by David Chandler. He lacked a regional accent in his voice and was also not able to produce distinct voices for the characters. That made this book difficult to listen to and hard to follow.

You will be thoroughly impressed with the character of Joe Pickett in this first novel of the series. The story might not be that engaging this time but the good guy character of Joe will surely inspire you. The audio narration was also a bit awkward and difficult to follow.
