There was a master gunnery sergeant from Brooklyn who was royally pissed as he had to babysit all of the researchers deployed on a special mission. There was a huge secret that was buried somewhere deep under the Antarctic. It was a puzzle that remained unsolved for thousands of years.
The researchers were sent to resolve that mystery. Patrick was on his last operation which he joined in the capacity of a Marine Raider. His retirement would move him to the Ellsworth Subglacial Highlands. There was a special reason for him to be on that mission. And that reason that he owed a favor to one of his very close and old friends. But, at the same time, it doesn’t mean that he liked all of that as well about the mission.
Ruins of the Earth tells a highly suspenseful tale along with some excellent characters. You will find this book and the series starting with immense focus on the military aspect of military science fiction. The experience will be outstanding.
