Ilea’s passions are simple – punching things and eating. But such hobbies don’t pave clear career paths. So she plans to quit her fast food job, attend college, and integrate into normal society, a dismal fate by her standards.
It seems fortuitous then that Ilea awakens in a fantasy world beset by monsters determined to kill her. Now “killing them right back” is a legitimate occupation! She soon discovers this mystical realm operates on video game-esque rules, allowing her to battle with enhanced strength unimaginable back home. Well, maybe not unimaginable given her wildest dreams, but close.
With no preset quest or guide, and little inclination to play the hero, Ilea sets out eager to uncover more of this magic-rich land, magic she can harness to confront ever more formidable foes.
She relishes the constant uncertainty and threats, thrilled to be unleashed, if sometimes accidentally poisoning or igniting herself. It’s complicated. But Ilea wouldn’t have it any other way.
