Malazan Empire has produced many supreme soldiers in the past and they have taken part in many serious battles. However, when the Great War started on this occasion the empire started crumbling because there is betrayal at its core which is eating everything up very quickly. John Banks has been playing the role of the official narrator since the beginning so no need to discuss anything about the narration because it is perfect all the time. A new era emerged in the empire of Malazan with the emergence of a new emperor.

There are troubles of different kinds which the empire is confronting. Greymane does not want to be a part of all this so he has tried to take the easy way by hiding in Falar i.e a school for swordsmanship. The past has not been kind to Greymane so he decided to leave everything aside and start all over again.

This is not easy when so many things are happening around you and the battlefield is calling you once again. Ian C. Esslemont’s Return of the Crimson Guard and Dancer’s Lament are absolutely superb as well but here the story is different in many senses. The main difference is the plot which discusses several things together. Korel and his team are going down in their own way and they are still fighting instead of accepting their fate.

Stormriders are another force that is rising after a long time so nothing is stable in this world that used to be cool and calm in the past. Don’t look for a final settlement of issues in this episode because Ian will not provide any stable answer in this third part.
