Lilian Jackson Braun introduced Jim as a character who was trying to quit his usual busy routine. He was an expert at solving crimes but now he has become tired of the thing and he thinks that he should start enjoying his life.
Also because of his busy routine he has not been able to give time to his beloved and that has complicated his life a little. This is the second part and the narrator is once again George Guidall which means that you will not feel any difference in voice if you have listened to the beginning of the series. Like The Cat Who Said Cheese and The Cat Who Knew a Cardinal this is once again a murder mystery.
Jim has finally won the case related to his inheritance and he has finally become the owner of the place which officially belongs to him. So there is no much to do because of which the man decides to spend the free time on the mountain side. When he reaches the Potato Mountains, he gets surprised by the behaviour of the people. The place was soothing but the people were troublesome.
Also there was a murder investigation going on and the people of the town think that the police has caught the wrong guy. Jim cannot bear injustice so he decides to help in solving the case. The investigation ruin Jim’s holidays once again and he thinks that it is his fate that brings him into trouble all the time. The killer happens to be a clever person but Jim has his friends with him who are going to provide him the assistance which he needs.
