The girl with all the troubles in the world on her head i.e Gracie Reed wasn’t thinking that her world will change by a single miracle. Though Gracie needed help from the skies she wasn’t expecting a fairy godmother because she wasn’t Cinderella. Gracie’s mother was seriously ill and she needed some nursing right away. The girl does not possess any money because she has been kicked out of her job quite recently. With no job and no money in her hands, Gracie was waiting for her doom when a big car stopped at her doorstep.
Lily Chu changes the story from this point when two leading stars come to the door of the main character of the novel. Fangli and Sam were the most famous couple in Chinese cinema so when they came to Gracie she was surprised. Fangli told Gracie that she wants Gracie to do her stand-in for a while as she was identical to her in appearance.
The thing had two benefits, first one was the money that Gracie was able to get through her performance. Secondly, Gracie was able to be with Sam for a few days who was so hot that no woman could resist him. The Comeback also showed the audience how the presence of a crush can change the attitude of a woman within no time.
So Gracie readily agreed to the thing and she later realized that the entire drama was not easy especially when Sam was so close to her on all occasions. Phillipa Soo has adapted the same style that the narrator used in the previous novel so it is a firm narration till the end.
