Author James Patterson is a renowned author of crime thrillers. Just as he presented a captivating storyline in The President Is Missing, his previous book, he has done it again. This time, he did it in collaboration with another well-known author, David Ellis.
This book is the second in the Invisible series. It follows the same plot development and characters in the first book. This time, the protagonist, Emmy Dockery is determined to bring down a notorious killer, who she has known personally. She is trying to do it without the knowledge of her superiors.
The book has everything an action thriller should have. If you’re read too many action thrillers, you will feel this one has a unique story and plot development than others. And the narrators Brittany Pressley and Kevin T. Collins did excellent jobs by representing the characters properly.
FBI agent Emmy Dockery has an eye to see situations a lot of her colleague misses. He has cracked countless of cases and made a sea rise of arrests with her unique skills of linking things together. As a young and hardworking girl who is driven with a passion for her work, she is climbing the ladder of her career too fast. However, there is an appalling new case that has driven her nuts. She is wondering how to crack this one.
It seems all the victims have apparently nothing in common and they appear to have died through an accident. But there are too many deaths to think there’s nothing linking them together. It just feels the murderer is always too clever to clean up his tracks carefully.
And Emmy Dockery has been drawn right into the whole situation as the killer they are looking for is her ex-fiancée. She needs to stay focused and watch her back because there’s someone else waiting for her to take a wrong move before pouncing on her.
