The novel is a great one from Paul Kalanithi, which is basically a personal memoir. It is narrated by Sunil Malhotra and Cassandra Campbell.

This exquisite and inspiring memoir finds immense beauty and hope on the face of impossible odds just when an unwavering fresh neurosurgeon goes on to answer one of the toughest and subjective questions ever: What is that thing, which makes this life worth living?
Paul Kalanithi at a tender age of 36 for a neurosurgeon and being just at the end of completing his training as a surgeon, he himself got diagnose with stage 4 lung cancer. One day, he himself was a doctor trying to diagnose and treat patients. And today he himself is a patient and dependent on doctors to treat him. With this diagnosis of his illness, the future that he has seen along with his wife got evaporated all of a sudden.
Paul started to dig answer to the question, which is raised in the start of this review. He wrote in his book that all living beings are meant to die after living a certain age. This phenomenon is something that makes life a lot more meaningful and virtuous as well.
There are a certain number of other questions, which are raised in the book.
What is that thing, which makes human life worth living against the face of death? What are the possible things that you can do, when the future is no longer a thing or a ladder leading towards the long term goals of your life? What could be the meaning of having a child and to go on to nurture a new life, when one life is about to fade away?
The above are some of the thought provoking questions by Paul, which use to wrestle with his mind all the time, when he was suffering from lung cancer.
