The story has quite attractive characters with each of them having their own unique nature. Scott Meyer has created characters which coexist in a nice way with each other. Each of the characters is like a piece of a puzzle that is needed for the completion of the final picture. Martin Banks and his friend though have solved the real issue which they prove that is just a computer program and they as hackers hacked it and mastered the future and took control of the past even. They got the ability to travel in time as well but still they fail to control or tame their future in which they are trapped in a game by their enemy, a wizard whom they captured and had him punished for his doings.
Their life is at stake this time in the trilogy of the Magic series by Scott Meyer. This time the so-called wizards who include Martin Banks and his friend come to know a different thing i.e they cannot use their superpowers anymore as in a game only that thing happens which the game master allows thus they find themselves at the mercy of the one who perhaps had no mercy for them. The story is highly ironical as the Todd traps the hackers in a computer game and this time their hacking abilities are also failing. The battle is highly dramatic but the friends have a will to survive in order to see England once again in the twelfth century that they liked the most.
The narration is once again by Luke Daniels which creates an association in the hearts of those who have listened to the previous part. Just like Out of Spite, Out of Mind and Spell or High Water this story is also popular among the kids who love exciting and thrilling quest and adventures.
