Alexander never thought that he would be able to defeat the forces of Prince Phane but he had hope that one day he would be able to find trustworthy and strong allies. Then in the previous part he was able to find some good friends and allies that helped him in winning at Northport. It was not a very big victory, also the outcome was not a permanent one because Alexander knew that the enemy would try to return with full force. Still it was like a confidence boaster and an evidence that there were still those who were ready to follow the Old Law.
Sides are finally chosen and Prince Phane knows exactly what to do in order to kill the opponent forces that are rising from all sides and trying to weaken his rule. Phane has created a dark soldier in this episode and the soldier is given the task to turn Alexander’s friends against him. Derek Perkins i.e the narrator of Sovereign Stone and Mindbender has narrated this book with a lot of ease because the narrator knew exactly where the story was going. David A. Wells writes about Zuhl in detail as he starts building a fleet by using Iron Oak forest.
Nothing seems to be safe in this episode as everything goes out of shape and place within no time. Alexander won the first round with a bit of difficult but he does not appear to have a chance in the final battle because the enemy has closed all the doors which could lead him to victory. Only hope is keeping the followers of the Old Law alive and all they need is another miracle.
