Most of the time when “Lucas Davenport” series is in someone’s hand he is interested more in the mystery solving agent that has been one the scenes for decades now. John Sandford has also kept on polishing his skills and personality then making him a family man in Naked Prey, a role that made him more appealing. Lucas is also observed in fighting crime with international magnitude in books like Hidden Prey, the man has done all but still not exhausted at all. Lucas never craves for more and more action but when it comes to him he cannot say now either.
Things in the present case have been quite for Davenport since the arresting of the “Big Three”, the three devils once ruled the town and killed many without a trace. Now all three are behind bars and the people of the town can move freely on the streets without fear or terror haunting their minds. But nothing lasts forever as murders appear on the scene that resemble to the cases in which the Big Three were involved once. The trio being in prison cannot be suspected but it looks like someone has taken their minds with him and is now applying them.
The only suspect is the man named Charlie Pope who has remained close to the three when he was in prison and now he is out practicing what he has learned from them in prison. Confusions are in the air because Charlie Pope is nowhere to be found and the Big Three too are not in a good mood at all.
Richard Ferrone has provided each one with a different style of talking in this book and looks like now he too is trying to put something new in his work after narrating so many books of the same series.
