A devastating attack on D.D. Warren leaves her badly wounded as she finds herself in the hospital after a few gunshots that she hears. She still remembers that she discharged her gun three times and still she is the one with the injuries and there is no sign of the criminal. Nobody knows whether he was wounded or not but it seems that the criminal was not a human being. Shana Day comes to the police and tells about her sister who she thinks can help everyone in the case.
As the police struggles to get more clues another murder brings havoc to the city, the woman who is murdered this time again has all the ingredients around her that were present near the previous dead body. D.D. Warren is the only one who has seen the culprit but the issue is that she has got severe injuries this time and is unable to lift her arm.
She cannot hold her child or gun but the determination is there because the killer nearly took everything away from her. Warren knows that the Rose Killer want her dead and in order to catch her before the completion of his mission she needs the help of the two sisters who can sense such things. They can sense the killer because their father was a serial killer but he dies forty years ago.
The determination of D.D. Warren is on a new level if we compare it with books like Alone and Find Her. Though she is wounded but she does not fear the killer at all, she is ready to confront him anywhere, anytime. Kirsten Potter like always is smooth and elegant in narration as she was in the previous parts. She doesn’t try to overdo things or add something more thus her originality is her strength.
