Golden in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel (In Death, Book 50)
“In Death” series has been fascinating the fans for ages now and those who started from the first part no consider it as a part of their lives. Every time there is another book of the series in the market the fans are bound to have a go at it.
Eve Dallas the most dominating character J.D. Robb ever created is on another mission with another murder case at hand. The weapon that is used this time is awesome and the motive behind the murder is really one of a kind. Kent Abner the one who was killed had no issues with anyone apparently and was considered as a nice person in the locality.
All of a sudden one day he got a package on the door step that was quite beautifully garnished. It was so much alluring that he opened it at once and found inside it an egg that had a charming golden color. Just when he opened the egg in two halves toxic fumes got into his breath and he died on the spot.
The technique adopted was not that of a usual killer as the method that was chosen for the killing was not only extraordinary but also needed an expert scientist for the performance of the whole procedure. One thing is clear that Eve must visit all the chemical labs of the town for the clue of some sort.
All the main events of Kent’s life are investigated one after the other and at the same time the research for the sender is on. The labs also try to check the nature of that toxic gas so that its cure could be found. Just like Vendetta in Death and Naked in Death the plot is superb along with the events that are closely bound with one another.
Susan Ericksen’s narrative skills make us feel the mystery; especially the whispering tone that she uses in the main scenes is out of this world.
