Tess was in love with the stories of love but she was not the type who was searching for an ideal sort of guy. She was quite satisfied with her life but one day she found a young and handsome man who was severely injured. When she saw the man she was forced by her heart to help him at any cost.
Although the scene looked quite strange to her because the man was bleeding and still he was not fainting rather he was able to move on his own. Tess’ mind was telling her to be aware of everything but her heart was functioning in a different direction. She wanted to help Dante at any cost and when he kissed her everything changed for both of them.
Hillary Huber’s narration tells us that Dante too is one of the Breed, vampire warriors like those we met in King of Midnight and Born of Darkness. He was at war with the rogue vampires and he didn’t want to involve Tess in that mess but their relationship just went out of control. He thought that the world above was not safe for Tess anymore so he took her to the underworld where Tess also realizes that she has some powers of her own that she has never tried to utilize.
This is a love tale with a lot of vampires involved and Lara Adrian likes to produce such stories. The author has a firm grip on such topics and he has always tried to play according to his strength. The fight is of the same kind in this series but the characters are of different personalities which makes it difficult to understand them at certain occasions.
