Off the Grid is a mystery thriller. It is the 16th part of Joe Pickett novel series. The book and the series are written by C. J. Box. His Blood Trail novel proves that statement. Moreover, the Nowhere to Run novel is another great novel by the author to prove that point.
David Chandler did the audio narration of this book and it was flawless.
The story will once again see Nate Romanowski making a return again. He was off the grid this time while recuperating from his injuries. He was struggling hard to deal with all of his past crimes. Soon, he found himself surrounded by a team of special operators. Those folks were not there to threaten or harm him in any way.
Rather, they were there to make a deal with him. They required his help to destruct a local domestic terror cell which was in the Red Desert of Wyoming. In return, they offered Nate to have his criminal record completely wiped out. But, his friend Joe had a different idea about them and they don’t seem to be the ones who they were. Their plan was too different and too deadly. The plan might just be something that could potentially have all of them down. That included Nate, Joe, and all of their loved ones.
The stakes were extremely high for Nate and Joe and that was probably a trap, but with a very lucrative offer, especially for Nat. He was thinking about it seriously as it could offer him a fresh start in life.
The book in a few words can be described as one with a good plot, strong characters, and tight writing. The narration by Chandler was at its usual best.
