Four books told the fans about the girls from the royal family emerging on the scene at the time of need. All of them remained successful in defending their family against the evil that fell on it. The fifth book comes with the tale of a seer who is close to becoming an official priestess. All of her journeys for the sake of knowledge before the current one were successful. She has gained the magical powers that were in her destiny, all she has to do now is to get settled in her seat which awaits her.
Sibeal also throughout her life has not thought about anything else, her prime focus had been to become the druid. Love and physical pleasures were never allowed to her and her as a seer was never tempted by them until she saw Felix i.e a boy with no memory of his past. Felix lost everything including his memory during a shipwreck and since then he has been at the mercy of the healers at Inis Eala. Getting closer to such a boy could be an imminent threat to Sibeal’s future but she just cannot resist.
A strange kind of attraction brings the two together and finally, the bond is formed between them. Juliet Marillier has not talked about such characters in Daughter of the Forest and Son of the Shadows. So it was a big task for the narrator Terry Donnelly to handle things together.
Usually, people don’t accept a sudden change in the pattern of the series. But this change is widely appreciated as the story was once again was well told by the author.
